Well, you will not hear me say this many times, especially when it involves a government office, but I have to give major kudos to the US passport office for their quick turn around of our passports. We opened our mailbox last night amazed to find 2 lovely passports, both of which have hands down the worst pictures Laurette and I have ever taken in them. Today is exactly 2 weeks since we went to the post office and filled out the paperwork. So it is now confirmed, Laurette and I will be taking our Eastern European Adventure the first of September!

Hey kids, I am as surprised as you are. I would have bet my life savings that you would have been waiting for those right up to the time you were scheduled to leave.

WHAT?!?! Why have I not heard of this adventure until now...and congrats on the passport...I turned mine in for a name change in May, and just got it last week. And in my pic I definitely have Texas hair...T-errible.
did you have them expedited? my husband keeps telling me not send mine off for a new one with my married name on it b/c it takes 5 months to get it back. i am going back to canada the last week in september. do you think i could do it and get it expedited and get it back in time?
I found your page through Tricias but I have to say, Michael and I waited on his passport that he payed extra for to have it in two weeks for FOUR MONTHS :) He got it the Saturday, one week before our wedding and honeymoon :) Consider yourself very blessed :) Maybe the passport service has cleaned up their game :) Happy Travels!
